Reflective
Practitioner
First
Placement Evidence
Description
and Rationale:
The
evidence I provide here to show myself
as a Reflective Practitoner is first my own reflection of my first full
week of teaching in my first placement. I realized that differentiation
was a very important part of accomodating students, and I reflected on
this and my conversations with my cooperating teacher and university
supervisor. I was able to strive to make improvements in this area and
was successful in the remainder of my teaching. Second, I have provided
an evaluation of my university supervisor to show my strength in this
area. I believe that through my own reflections and speaking with
mentors, I was able to create meaningful reflective practices that
improved my teaching overall.
Reflection:
As I
reflect over being a Reflective
Practitioner, I realize that in order to give all of my students the
best learning opportunities and the best environment to learn, I must
reflect each and every day about each and every lesson. The importance
of reflection to find out what works and what does not will change from
classroom to classroom, student to student, year to year. I will strive
to reflect each and every day about my teaching practices so that I may
become and even better Reflective Practitioner.
Description
and Rationale:
Just
as I have for the first placement,
also for the second placement I have provided my own personal
reflections and my university supervisor's evaluation of me as a
Reflective Practitioner to show my strength in this area. In my own
reflections, I show my concern with the difference between fourth grade
and Kindergarten and my reflections on making sure I do not
underestimate the Kindergarteners. Through my teaching, my reflections,
and getting aquainted with the Kindergartners and their abilities, I
was able to create a better environment and understand their learning
patterns even more after I reflected on the way they reacted to certain
situations and lessons. The actual evaluation from my university
supervisor also shows my strength in this area. I feel like my
strength in the area of Reflective Practitioner grew because of my own
relfections.
Reflection:
When I think back about where I was
and where I am now, I cannot help but to smile. I have grown so much as
an individual and a teacher throughout this semester. By reflecting on
all of my practices and all of my experiences, I feel that I have
become strong in the area of Reflective Practitioner. I intend to use
daily reflective practices to continue to grow in this area.
